It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the Rice University NSF ADVANCE Institutional Transformation for Faculty Diversity website. As our abstract and proposal indicate, our project is focused on the Schools of Natural Science and Engineering. Consistent with the broader goals of this NSF program, we are committed to increasing the number of women in science and engineering at Rice University, to creating a positive and welcoming work environment, to conducting deep and thoughtful assessments of our activities, and to sharing what we learn in this exciting endeavor.
Our team has worked arduously to produce a virtual space where our activities can be identified, thereby making it easy for others to share this journey. We invite you to take full advantage of our on-line resources, our workshops and our national database of potential faculty candidates.
Rice University's NSF ADVANCE Program is designed to capitalize on the strong commitment to gender equity at the University, and to create new insights into the features of the academy that impede the inclusion and progress of women and minorities more generally in the professoriate.
